Dec 19, 2020     Drilled and cleco'd upper leading edge left wing - (8 hours)       Category: Wings
Drilled and cleco'd pilot (#40), #30 final for nose, then #20 final for nose-to-spar. This wasn't as easy as it sounds. I needed to re-line up the rear skin back to the 7 or 8 pilot holes that i already had put in the spar from before I flipped the wing over to work on the bottom side. Had to flex it all back into shape. Once I got it there, I spiked an awl in one of the center holes on the skin/spar and popped the leading edge under the rear skin edge (since the rear skin has the pilot holes factory CNC drilled). I then put a nice tight vice-C-clamp on the I/B joint, popped out the awl, then lined up the O/B side and clamped there as well. Checked the level all the way around the wing again, then proceeded to drill the spar all the way across (ever 5th or so hole, then back for tweens, then back to finish) then drilled the nose skins starting on the O/B side. Alicia helped me by using the rib stick to push/pull the nose ribs into place while I drilled.
